FAIR TRADE – Partnerprogramm STEP
Alle Teppiche dieser Kollektion werden im traditionellen Handwebverfahren aus Naturmaterialien hergestellt. Zunächst wird Wolle in natürlichen Farbtönen gemischt, dann zu widerstandsfähigen Garnen gefilzt und anschließend zu Teppichen verwebt. Bei der Herstellung orientieren wir uns am Standard von Label STEP.
Der STEP-Standard umfasst Anforderungen an faire Löhne, sichere Arbeitsbedingungen, das Verbot von Kinderarbeit und den Umweltschutz. Label STEP zeichnet Händler aus, die sich für ihr gesamtes Sortiment handgefertigter Teppiche zur Einhaltung des Standards verpflichten. Unabhängige Inspektoren überprüfen die Arbeitsbedingungen; bei Abweichungen werden Verbesserungsmaßnahmen eingeleitet. Der gemeinnützige Verein wurde 1995 in der Schweiz gegründet und setzt sich für die Menschen ein, die handgefertigte Teppiche herstellen.
